Senator Gladstone Visits Two Residential Schools

Senator James Gladstone, the first Indigenous Senator, was honoured at a special banquet at St. Paul’s Residential School after his appointment to the Senate. He had attended St. Paul’s Anglican Residential School as a child before attending St. Dunstan’s Industrial School.

Senator Gladstone had a friendly relationship with Rev. Ted DeWolf, the Principal of St. Paul’s and later of La Tuque. The Senator visited Rev. DeWolf at both the schools he ran and sent him Christmas greetings in his official Senatorial role and as a friend.
